September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Blessings everyone and happy September! I pray all is well. This is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and as most of you know by now, I am an advocate as I help people become educated about this cancer and also talk to those who will listen (and even those who won’t listen) as to why we need accurate testing, for insurance companies to not fight patients, their caregivers or families, for better treatments which is what everyone wants across the board, less misdiagnosis, for this cancer to be caught more quickly and of course a cure.

Here is a video that I recorded the other year that got a lot of attention. This is my story as to why I’m an advocate and what led me to writing my poetry book, “Crying Tears of Teal.”

Stay tuned for more posts this month and if there is anybody who does podcasts, shows, etc and would love to have me as a guest to talk about ovarian cancer awareness, please reach out to me here.

Also, with my posts you will see that I’m supporting a certain organization, I’m going to highlight different chapters of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition this month, highlight SHARE Support and others. Today I’m highlighting the Central Maryland Chapter of NOCC. Check them out and click the pic below or here to donate to their chapter as well!

Peace and love.

When Scheduling Goes Wrong

Lyme Disease Post: When Scheduling Goes Wrong!
Hi everyone, the video says enough of what I went through with my anticipated visit to see the neuro ophthalmologist. There’s still a lot of miseducation out there and long story short, I’ve been waiting two and a half months for this appointment and only because I got in early due to a cancellation. Just to get there and the doctor realizes after reading through the notes that the scheduler did not do their job right. When scheduling goes wrong, and people assume that just because you have “neuro” in the title of what you do means that you can handle everything with neurology including neuro-ophthalmology which takes a whole different set of training and education as we know.

So please watch the video, I know I’m not alone in this, which makes it even worse because unfortunately I’ve been to other doctors in my past where they were the wrong doctors to go to, or you go to a doctor and even though they might be the right one they don’t want to see you or brush you off because of your diagnosis OR like last week where the scheduler booked you for an appointment with a doctor that does not even do this.On days like this I must decompress, pray, and look at as many positives as possible. But best believe, I will be sending off some emails and writing letters to this Health system here in Northern Virginia because I need them to do a whole lot better! This is not my first run in with them.Be well…stay safe and thank you for watching. Lyme Disease Awareness Post: Neuro Ophthalmology and Eye Disturbances

Lyme Disease Awareness Post: What Does a Neuro Ophthalmologist Do and Eye Disturbances: Many blessings and greetings everyone. I talked about neuro ophthalmologist in a post I did during the month of May and said I would come back to do a video to talk about the different levels of eye doctors.

In this post/video I talk about the difference, what each of them do and what drove my doctors to refer me to a neuro ophthalmologist. A lot of people that have visual disturbances but also have central nervous system disorders, eye disturbance, problems with their muscles and nerves are referred to a neuro ophthalmologist. Also, those like myself who had an abnormal MRI of their brain and coupled with visual disturbances, plus I wear glasses is what lead doctors to refer me to a neuro ophthalmologist to keep track of my eye health and to get testing done.

Please check out the video and if you want to learn more about Lyme disease, I encourage you to subscribe to my YouTube channel at divinewryte and feel free to also contact me here through my website or Facebook business page www.Facebook.com/divinewrytewellness

Although Lyme disease awareness month is over, I advocate and educate all year long. Stay tuned for more videos and posts. Thank you for stopping by and God bless.

Lyme Disease Awareness Post: Misdiagnosis and Imitation of other illnesses

Lyme Disease Awareness Post: Misdiagnosis and Imitation of other Illnesses:

Lyme disease causes an array of symptoms and mimics tons of diseases, disorders and illnesses. It’s nicknamed, “The Great Imitator.”

As you will see in the video on YouTube (feel free to click to watch and subscribe), I was misdiagnosed with stress, anxiety, asthma, flu, pleurisy, pneumonia, ALS, Whipple’s disease (yep, it’s an actual disease…), Lupus and multiple sclerosis. Going through 10 misdiagnoses in 3 months was beyond stressful.

The reason I was misdiagnosed is because the multitude of symptoms that I had all mimicked every disease, disorder and illness that I posted and talk about in the video. That gives you an idea what people with Lyme are going through. Once all of the stress tests, labs, MRI’s (although abnormal, I don’t have MS), scans and spinal tap came back that these were all wrong, then they were deemed as a misdiagnosis. I’m glad by then I met my Integrative Health doctor. The only one they had to watch was the MS misdiagnosis because I had 13 lesions in my brain that almost looked like the pattern of MS and inflammation due to Neuro Lyme and Co-infections.

It’s a lot, but people in the Lyme community are RESILIENT, we are Lyme warriors indeed. Many are still struggling, and some are new to Lyme, and I pray for them daily.

Thank you for stopping by to learn more about Lyme and the journey. Stay tuned for more posts. 💚💚💚

Lyme Disease Awareness Month Post: Procedures, Tests and Labs…

Lyme Disease Awareness Month Post: Procedures, Tests and Labs…

Blessings everyone. Praying all is well. I wanted to stop by as I decided to do another video based on another appointment I had. I finally got an overdue CT scan.
.
With Lyme comes things like swollen/inflamed lymph nodes, inflammation in various parts of the body, etc and it requires those areas to be looked at more closely to see what’s going on. Also, I talk a little bit about the journey of labs, IV’s and more.
.
Check out the video and please like and share. My goal is to educate and advocate as many as I can through my journey, what I’ve learned from other Lyme Warriors, trusted practitioners, research, etc.
.
Be well and stay blessed.
